Our main aim is to help, train and educate people in ways which will lead them to selfsufficiency.
Although the primary goal of the organization is not to provide emergency relief or aid nevertheless, ABC Children's Aid will do so to save lives. Our long-term aim is always to help others to become independent and self-sufficient.
Why help is needed
Uganda is a beautiful country in East Africa, a popular place for travellers, and is known as “the pearl of Africa”. Two things cast a shadow over its beauty: the loss of life in many families to HIV/aids, leaving many children orphaned. There was a long war in Northern Uganda that forced many families into poverty, surviving in overcrowded and dangerous camps. Many thousands of children were left behind as orphans, and have to brave many dangers every day. ABC Children’s Aid Uganda has stepped in to help these children. It take a village to raise a child During the worst years of war in north Uganda, made worse by HIV/aids, ABC Children’s Aid Uganda was able to operate thanks to the support and gifts from donors and generous individuals. With a return to peace and a normal level of security, families and communities are in transition, preparing to rebuild their lives. |
